I think that's a briliant idea... we just need to be careful of Volcanoes and tsunamis and tropical storms, but other than that... YAHOO!

*chortle*. . . . For some reason the Pacific seems ... safer?

Well, Cuba would be fairly safe from natural disaster-type things... and if Cuba was not a communist nation, we could easily not have to worry about the US pulling some BS on us...

Well, there is the whole issue of people living there... and... having the Castro family and stuff.
Umm... maybe?

~updateo~!
I'm proofreading the second half of Vol. 1 at present. Well, no, I'm typing a post at present, but if I push alt tab I'll be proofreading it!
So, I'm not sure what all will appear in my next site update. I'm wondering if it wouldn't be wise to redo the main page layout using wz_jsgraphics so I know where images are relative to their clickable-ness... but that's probably not worth it. Not yet, anyway.
Expect the next update to include DLE (so it won't happen until DLE is done enough to put online), and ... I'm not sure if I'll just create another file in the members' area, or just update the one that's there, but yeah... the rest of TAOE: Season1 will be out the next time the site is updated.

*read all of TC last night* It was actually better than I remember it being when I wrote it the first time, but still had plenty of things for me to fix. And we're looking at quite possibly a 500 page book by the time it gets published.
*decides to check out TAOE soon* And I pronounce Project Universe in a coma... because I'm not sure it's dead. Well, it was never actually alive in the first place, it seems.

Yah, TC is super-awesome in rough draft form. Hmm... *can't remember where left off in pseudo-beta*.
Project Universe... ... ... Needs... caffeine. Though we basically have one with our fanfics, given what's happened with the RPGs and all. o.o

It's pretty much certain that I won't finish audio DBR episode 1 before going back to the H place. Oh well... faster internet FTW? And apparently they're putting wireless in the dorms now.

Nope. I'm quoting what one of my friends randomly woke up and said in the middle of the night back in Middle School, then fell back asleep, leaving the rest of us to just go "... *laughs!* "

*thought about it* XD What's the EBay auction say for the highest bid on Steven Colbert's wrist cast? And... I'm at an interesting choice in figuring out how to setup the fighting engine in Jeqo RPG version... 3.1415926? *ahem*. I want to enable height-based things. I.E, attacks hit at varying heights, and it's possible to evade by like, ducking or jumping or being too short, Etc. But the problem is... how do I tell if targets are in the height range in the first place? I'm not sure that a heght variable is the best thing to use... but I might have to use it... basically because we have a variety of creatures, which could be on the ground, in the air, different sizes... but I can't use the generic size variable, lest we assume that humans and tigers are the same height... That, and things can change position? Like... Some things might decide to stay in the air or on the ground... or maybe we have something that wants to rear up, but might decide to lie low... *head explodes*. Maybe just size+position, and "flying" / "standing" / "crouching" / whatever are options. But we still have the Tigers Vs Humans problem. And I'd like to avoid using a height variable since its sole purpose would be for fighting... I guess I could use different poses for all fours Vs bipedal? Guh. *cries*

|
Post by Wolfstar on Sept 1, 2007 11:50:34 GMT -5
Yeah... the only thing that came to mind was a height variable, which would be added to the position height... and then giving a set amount of base damage to strikes dealt in certain places, which would also be determined by the height variable? Guh... I need to learn programming stuff to make this sound intelligent...

|
|
Post by cajones on Sept 1, 2007 13:40:52 GMT -5
That made perfect sense. *totally forgot about getting hit in different places having different results* I think maybe it's possible to estimate height based on position and size. And from there I think we're good... I think for varying damage/effect based on the area hit...it might be better to somehow link that to injuries? Hmm. *isn't sure* And this might vary from creature to creature. Heh heh. Fun!
o.o an I guess I've decided that creatures are subclasses of items. Which... saves typing, I guess.
