Note: I'll try to cover the updated things in this thread. Note that the second post concerns the changes to the members' area, which probably won't change until I find something more secure or more server-oriented.
Check the subject of each post for the updated item.

Alright, this one's a bit major. Essentially, instead of having to request the password and get into the members' board and all of the that mess, you can register on your own, provided you can find the members' board. That will not only give you your members' area profile, but will also give you access to thepassword for the members' board.
The major drawback to this method, other than the script combos, is the fact that it is client side. That basically means that it only applies for your computer, not the server, so you can only log in from the computer you registered on. Not only that, but you can't have more than one account on that computer. So if several people want to have an account on the same computer, it's advised to make a shared account for that computer, since they can't use it to impersonate you or anything. (The worst that they could do is screw up your custom list). You have to log in a bit more than should be necessary when going to and from the MA index, but it's easier than remembering that long password for the board. I hope it works out, at least until I can get a more efficient method going. Then again, if this one is popular enough, we can stick with it. It's really up to you guys.
And another note, we should be seeing some content in the members' area. Hopefully I can grab some new stuff, but for now, there's only a small update. Enjoy!

In its first post-release update, Jeqo Legends has been expanded to include 10 new characters, as well as another hidden character. The new characters come along with another jq story-mode and unlockables.
The glitch that let's exhausted opponents block has been fixed!
And probably most helpful for those of us with time issues: there is now a save feature! To save, you must be at the main menu. Type "files" and choose Ok. You will then be asked if you want to save or load(save is the default). To save, just press enter or click ok (or type save if it has been erased). Then enter the file name (Or just press enter for the default). If y you are asked to continue because of a suspicious ActiveX object, then you must choose if you trust us enough to continue. If you choose yes, then you should have your progress saved. Note that this doesn't save unlocked characters and items! But there's a way to retrieve those… To load your game, simply go into files, enter "load" and press enter. You should be prompted for the file name (default is the same as save), and then you might get the security warning again. If you choose to continue and return to the main menu, your game should be loaded!
To restore the unlocked things you've won, you should remember the passwords. Enter the passwords in options > password and then go into battle > jq > the story you got them from. You should do this before loading, since loading puts you where you saved from (but doesn't lock or unlock anything, other than hidden stories). Or, you could cheat in fights with hidden characters and make them into hollows, but that will come back to bite you.
That's about it. Other than a new item that my cousin would probably abuse…

This game is another text-based game. You join a group of six people at a house (we don't learn much about the house or its owner). You can look around and talk to people. Eventually, unless fate is persistent, someone will be killed, and it becomes your job to find out who.
This is really a demo version of sorts, since you can't choose the number of suspects (though that might never happen), and there are no physical clues. The only hard evidence you have is your observations. There's an aweful lot of information, and there's no save feature as of yet. Still, once you figure out how to work with it, it gets better.
Hopefully, a save feature will be added, along with a more potent scoring system. Hard evidence, more involved accusations, and score-posting are among the features we hope to add. Nonetheless, it's a good chance for you to… talk to a bunch of strangers with funny names. (You might want to write them down! Trust me…)
And, there is a glitch that let's you talk to the victim after they've been killed. They can't go anywhere, but they can talk just the same.

I discovered that the hotspots for links on your new home page are off a little from the buttons... you might want to reassign those. Yeah, they all seem to be shifted down, a lot. thought I'd let you know.

Oopse, I didn't see this... . Thanks though... that's helpful! The only thing I need to know is... shifted by how much (hehehe) and if there's any shifting in the x direction as well... ... I'll get ont hat. *hopes it's just verticle*

It seems to be down and to the left for all of them, unless I missed something. What program are you using for that, fireworks?

I rawcoded it. I must have just over shot the coefficients or something.. O.O. It was just the planets, right?

Hmm. I used the same coefficient for all of them. I'll have to go back and do it with inches to px rather than the stupid resolution fractions... that was a pain anyway. *is tempted to insult Las Vegas* Eh, that's part of what I want to do for my next update, which probably won't be for a couple weeks to a month... Though, I'll add something to the forum tomorrow.

Hmm. I don't feel like repositioning those areas... o.o. (Oh, sure, frontpage or photoshop could do it. With use of the mouse. -.-.). Well, while I .. urm... pretend to work on fixing those, I'll put (colorful?) buttons up by the "text-only" button for easier navigation of those. I also need to redo those majorly (I have no idea where my notes on those are... *sigh*). So, I think I have sort of enough for an update, after five months and some change... So, expect it soon. . I'll try to finish some stuff on JL, get the new auditions for the PSAudio going (Umm, proofreaders?), and... I guess I'd have to note the PSTAG, unless I want to put up a demo... o.o. *sigh*. And just some scattered news that we all know about, but the general public (Who probably won't show up) won't. *sigh again*. But eh, on the upside, I got back to number one when you search for "Planet Seva" (quotes included) at google. (I still want the swiss or German or whatever langauge version that was. ^_^.). And I should put a plug for wolfstar somewhere. Hmm. ^-^^-^. I'm off to do stuff now... Wait! How many pixels are there to an inch? Or... what's the scale in powerpoint... Eh, I'll have to take it easy on the backgrounds...

the Voiceacting alliance (http://voiceactingalliance.com/ ). Hmm... I detect lots of anime and videogame influences... . Well, since I put it in the header, there's no point in mentioning the "bot barier"... You know, I think I might be able to do something... assuming they use the same patterns... Oh, and I found out that these adbots are Chinese if that's anything helpful?

Smash smash smash (the adbots)!

Post by cajones on Jul 2, 2006 4:10:25 GMT -5
Meh, there should be some kind of legal action agaisnt bot users. That way we don't have to have security codes! Bots should be used by: search engines. Marketers: We need to do research to improve our products! *thwack*. Research doesn't include posting nonsense or unwanted ads, or hijacking people's systems to show your ads (effectively stealing money with forced pay-per-click). Research? Ok, that's fine. This, is not research. *joins in Wolfstar's smashing idea* Urm... yeah, the auditions are opened. . But anyone that didn't know that by now...

Do you have a list of parts that are still available?

All parts are still available! . I have a list somewhere... it's on the HP, the info page is on the Compaq, and neither of those are connected to the internet (HP isn't setup for it yet, and compaq is still under the influence of LeaderMarkets).

Ok, so this weekend I'm gonna try and make it to Best Buy so I can get a mic and all the proper software and stuff to see if I'm any good with voiceacting. Of course I say this, but if it really happens we will see.

Hehehe. The best mic I've got... ok, not sure about that. But the one that came with the cheap Kawasaki keyboard works pretty well with xp proffessional's sound recorder. (Yeah, a version of sound recorder that actually works pretty well...!). But odds are that better software/equipment will be a help in proceeding... <--the VAA has tutorials on this stuff... -->

I should check those out then.
If I do audition, are you limiting each voiceactor to one part, or as many as they can handle/you like?
|
|
|
Post by cajones on Jul 5, 2006 8:48:09 GMT -5
As many parts as can be done will be accepted! ^_^. The only thing is that characters don't need to be confused with each other, but I don't think that will be a problem. (Urm... if that's not clear, yes, one person can audition for multiple parts).
