Perhaps those. But what about Spain?

Dude, we should so write a book about our forum mythology...

I can't imagine many that would read that, but it would be a fun little project!

Yepness. But we should probably archive like all the posts first... But with all the new threads in the past few weeks, I've lost track of where to start archiving...

The active ones don't matter as much as the ones that we're probably going to lose.

Yeah. Unless she uses the delete old posts feature (which I don't think she will).

I think she's willing to spare active stuff, but I'm not sure.

The delete old posts feature deletes posts, not threads. I think she'd delete threads individually, though. It's easier to archive a whole thread in one sitting than to break it up... so I definitely don't want to archive the older active threads (you know, being that they're huge and all...)

Makes sense. Maybe we should ask?

Or maybe we should keep quiet and she won't remember.

Hmm... uh... I'm lost as to where to take this discussion from here. So I have decided to make it... urm.. EC related?

Roger.
Ok, so far in my reading, I'm not finding much that just blares "What?!?" in my ear. There is something involving Chevrelet that bothers me, but maybe that will clear up by the time I'm done reading it, which is one of the reasons I've decided to read through before giving a detailed review.
And I think I figured out where the missing files go, lol. A whole chapter? Wow, you must have gone to town!
Extreme Clashers comic would be cool. It seems to have all the elements in it for a good manga-type comic... and actually, I think an ECxHerendil deal would be easier than a PSxHerendil one, and could prove to be just as interesting. Also, it would be easier to manage, since EC-Earth and Herendil-Earth could be the same place, in theory.

Yeah, once I got to the serious notetaking for this version, I had to do a lot of background thinking to get Chevrelet to make sense... geh, it's still kind of confusing... Eh, I think it's too short to mangafy in that if I went comic with anything, it'd want to be broken up into separate episodes of sorts... EC isn't long enough for that (though that just gave me an idea... . Which I will save for later...). Though, a graphic novel type thing ... or heck, just making it all one big volume might work... Meh. Actually, I think PS×Herendil can be made to make sense pretty easily, but spoilers would be involved... Still either is an interesting idea...

So are you going to stay with Authorhouse, or are you planning on renewing your search for publishers?

Post by cajones on Jul 23, 2006 9:32:26 GMT -5
Meh, EC will probably be with Authorhouse... and after that, I think I'll go elsewhere. Maybe just forget the system entirely and just use everything as a springboard to make an impact everywhere else.

I need to start researching publishers. Like you said before, publishing on demand is efficient and everything, but the exposure just doesn't seem to be there. It basically means you're going to have to rely on word of mouth.
So how does authorhouse work for you? Do you still have all the rights to Planet Seva? Can you take it elsewhere to re-release, or are you locked in with authorhouse on it for a set amount of time?

I think I have pretty much all the rights. They just get more money than they need. I don't recommend them, even though they do have some marketting plans... (They're not cheap). They did give us these nifty bookmarks and business cards... I think the one I had in my pocket finally bit the dust after two years of staying there... (Yeah, I had the business card in my pocket for two years... I think it died...).

I'm giving the Xlibris thing that I found in the ads on this here board a try. They seem to be fairly large scale, it's just a matter of me choosing which publication package I'm going to want... and they're not cheap. Bah. Although I had someone tell me they were interested in investing in the Herendil project, so that is potential good news, right?
