Ok. I'm sure that people know by now that I am dissatisfied with my publisher. You must also have noticed that, while I am somewhat patient, I don't exactly enjoy waiting for things. So what's the purpose of this? I'd like to know of any competent publishers that will serve people under the age of 18. I'd rather not wait until I'm 18 to release anything else. Yeesh, haven't these people heard of S. E. Henton? >.<

I'm guessing you're over the age of 18 by now, right? And I've still got nothing. Soon, I hopefully get to take up the same search you're in... bah. I still say we should make our own publishing company.

LOL. *thinks about editing post*. I don't like the businessy junk involved in publishing these days. The publisher always has to proffit by a huge marjin. You can either hope what you have fits their idea of good money, it can be twisted into that (therefore standing the potential of ruining it, but maybe improving it), or the option where you can have it done and somehow wind up $1000 poorer 2years later... ^_^. And then there's self-publishing... . Granted, between research, writing, game design, cartoons, music, voiceacting, and any possible patents that might show up, you'd think something in there would go to money, eh? *burns money*. I like the "make our own publishing company" idea. ^_^.

Yeah, but then we're playing with the idea of "It takes money to make money."

Gah. Money sucks... E-Books would be a looot cheaper to make, and are sellable, but a lot less profitable. Granted you wouldn't have to worry about losing anything.
P.O.D. is more cost-efficient, but at the same time it's probably the reason that Planet Seva, at its minimum price, is like $14.50. Gah. I'm sure it shouldn't be that expensive if we print stuff of our own accord, the problem is that we probably wouldn't be able to find good enough printers without getting a big debt. >..<. But paper's not too expensive, until the masses of fans arrive. LOL.
Wait... that's it! My senior prediction does have meaning... I must create something that is like a cross between a magazine and a poster that can only exist at the speed of light...
Or find a good printer. *sigh*. Oh, and maybe I can get those 5 pages put into EC by the end of the month and update the status...
I'm rambling now.

But rambling is what we do best.
Well, maybe not best, but we sure do it well.
We need to bring more people to this site! Any way I can help? I've been trying to spread the word, but most people don't want to buy or read a book from a completely unknown author unless they are being backed by a great publisher. And I won't go into any more on that part...
Must find methods for publicity! I think you should write some short fics based off of Jeqo-stuff and post them on fictionpress, and have up there that they are tie-ins to your published/soon to be published works.
*starts saving money to start a new publishing company*

That's why they're like, "who's your favorite author?" And I'm like, "I don't have one; it doesn't matter who it is, they can do a good job, just as easily (well, not as easily...) as a bad one." Wait, this souunds like there's stories involved. . Do tell? *doesn't particularly want to register with Fictionpress* *might* I'm sure there are grants or contests or something that we could qualify for and get some sort of starting funds for. *burns money* o.oyster...

The Ayn Rand foundation does an essay contest every year on Atlas Shrugged. I'm in the process of reading it now, but I won't be done in time to do the essay this year, so I'll have to start on a super-mega-awesome one for the following year. That is only worth $5000, but that wouldn't be a bad start on some printing press equipment.

We could try to build stuff from scratch? Urm... Azuri's an engineer, my dad's an electrician... I'm not helping am I? LOL.
Yeah, that's not a bad place to start. It's starting that's the hard part...

And if we both entered in different years and each won, that would be $10000... which would definately be enough to get us off the ground if we just ran it out of someone's house or something. An actual building would be expensive. Eek, and we'd have to convince stores to carry our books too, which could take a bit of doing...

It depends how you go about it. . I think we actually got the Books A Million in town interested in Planet Seva, we just didn't take out the $700 insurrance policy that is required (not sure by whom... o.o. Whom...).

www.xlibris.comThat's an ad at the top of the page about getting published, and it said they were in association with Random House. I'm tempted to check it out. edit: clicked it. You may want to check that out.

One problem... I don't see it... The ads have been flash here today. >.<. I think the insurance was to cover the cost of unsold copies or something.
